Looking for secure bike storage but don't have a garage?
Discussion
This looks quite impressive if you want some more secure cover for the bike but don't have a garage:

There's a few other around such as:

or
http://www.secure-a-bike.com/fotos.html which I saw at NEC one year (looked good as base slid out to put bike on, making it easier and smaller)

I've got use of that green container above^
The owner who installed it must have done it many years ago though. The metal panel underneath the choke has some rust so it buckles a little, meaning that if you try and slide the platform out the lip gets caught when you try to slide it back in.
Not that I would use it that way anyhow, I find it much easier to ride the bike straight into the chock. Then pull the bike off the chock when I want to leave.
The doors and lock are very heavy duty, but one of the doors on mine has its hinges break so I have to man handle the door every time I open and close the fker.

I've got the green one above.
Maybe when it's new the sliding platform is good.
Personally I find it much easier to ride straight into the shelter with the front wheel choked, rather than trying to push and balance the bike onto the platform and chock.
To take it out I just sit on the bike and pull on the bars and rock back off, ride it backwards and use your feet to steady yourself.
You do need to duck a fair bit obviously going in and out, but it's not exactly a contortion act.

I used to have a bike barn in my garden. A bit like a large textile, metal framed shell. Ride up to it. Park on the side stand. Pull the frame over the bike. Job done. I bolted it down to some slabs and sat it all on gravel. The frame can be locked with a padlock.
Not as secure as a proper metal "garage", but not too expensive. It did me for 3yrs at my old house.
Bit like this: http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=1...
