Remember to change it, especially if it is original. Just changed mine as the car now has 15,000 miles. The differential is far from a good design, and if you have one made on a Friday afternoon, it is bound to fail.
I used 2 Quarts [like 2 litres] of Torco with 2 ounces of Type 'F' friction modifier.
I am glad I did it, as the oil level was down 1/2 quart from a very loose filler cap.

Mines done 55k on the original diff oil, I understand on the VXR8 you need a special carbon type oil with friction modifier as it has carbon friction plates.

anyone bought some recently type and cost/supplier?

My VXR8 LSD had this oil put in about 2000 miles ago, car has covered 60000 miles and thought it was time to give it a change.

Monaro & vxr8 have different diffs & need different oils the royal purple works well in the ro's as it has the friction modifier in it already
For the vxr8's you need the castrol carbon mod as in the pic Snowey put up its easiest/ cheapest to get it from landrover as it's also used in the discovery diffs

+1 on what Neil has added, original poster has no details on his profile as to what car he has, always best to add a bit of detail when posting either in post or profile biggrin

OK, OK, I have a 2004 GTO. And most every differential sent to the USA in a GTO either makes some noise or turns to apple sauce.
