Weistec Turbo / Downpipe install for E63 bi - Turbo
This is a first in the UK for this type of install!
Weisitec Down Pipes
Turbo Pipe
Stock System
Old and New Turbo Back Pipe
Old System Off And New Ready for install
Quick Over View !
Weistec Product is awesome not cheap but worth the money for the quality of the product.
The Install is about a full day and is not the best of jobs as it is VERY awkward to get to the turbo down pipes!!!
!
The sound Difference is amazing but not as Brutal as the C63 Systems!
This sound is much more a respectable noise that you would expect from the E63. You can hear the Turbo Spooling much more and the response of the car is on another level!
Over all the Power increase is not alot but the power comes in much lower in the Rev range. I will put up a dyno Graph to show the differences!
I cant wait to buy a Bi-turbo!!!! lol

Acid
Possibly the best mod I've done to the car, apart from LSD
The power output remains similar, albeit slightly higher, though appears much lower in the rev range. This makes overtaking so much easier, as it's now at maximum torque (~700ft-lbs) at around 2,500rpm so just endlessly hurtles on without having to hammer it. You can now actually hear the turbos spooling up at low revs, something which they struggled with before probably due to the restrictions in the OE downpipes.
And the noise...

Was looking into this myself with rebellion full system or capristo switchable boxes
The original down pipes really look restrictive, I'm surprised that acid doesn't think it produces much more power, but I suppose 20 bhp on a 700ish bhp car won't be that noticeable.
For me it's not the power figures but the feeling. I'm a poor driver in reality and am having my cls treated to full tracking check as something doesn't feel quite right.
I want the sounds of the c63 but performance of the remapped biturbo ......
Can't see the cats tho!

I think the difference would be a lot more noticeable on a standard car and, in retrospect, would probably have been my first mod after the lsd.
As it happened it was an afterthought as the car was already mapped and the rear resonator removed, so was at ~700bhp before the down and intermediate pipes went on. Having said that, the difference in performance is stunning, especially at the lower end of the rev range. As you (correctly IMO) mention, figures aren't everything.
As for the noise, it's a lot louder now than a standard C63, though not up there with the full IPE systems as used by the Weistec supercharger boys.

No cats. They were on the original intermediate pipes, one per side. All it has on it from the factory are the original rear boxes.
Have got the cats in storage though, along with the rear resonator which was removed a while ago, just in case I decide to revert back to standard if/when I change cars, though this is not in any plans at the moment.

The tailpipes on the W212 facelift are not actually connected to the exhaust, which finishes a couple of inches before them. Aesthetics I suppose, though not very impressive.
I do have the original rear boxes still on the car, and will probably be keeping them as they are. It's loud enough for me at the moment.
I am having issues with the 02 sensor throwing a couple of faults up at the moment, namely P0420 & P0430, which are basically telling me that the cats aren't working very efficiently. As they're upstairs somewhere at MSL Performance, then they wouldn't be really I suppose. It threw the check engine light on today so I cleared the codes, but I've a feeling they'll be back before long.
Has anyone had any experience with using O2 sensor spacers? It's just a thought as Acid will hopefully be on to Weistec tomorrow to see if they have a solution...
