Epic road in the mountains of the UAE, a fast Jag and a spectacular POTW - winner!

The Jaguar F-Type has been on the counter attack this week. And well it might feel the need to assert itself, given a two-pronged attack from the Germans in the shape of the Mercedes-AMG GT and emboldened Porsche 911 GTS driven last week.

The F-Type's response? A new 'MY16' model year update with a significantly expanded range that brings electric steering (proof will be in the driving), four-wheel drive (constant powerslides not your thing?) and a manual gearbox for V6 models (thumbs up from us).

The F-Type S Dale drove in the UAE didn't have any of these new features but that didn't seem to diminish his enjoyment of the amazing Jebel Jais mountain road one bit. Indeed, from chasing a convoy of fast-moving McLarens to pairing up with a PHer in a Lotus Evora it'd seem this incredible dead-end mountain road on the Arabian peninsula is a bit of a playground for British sports cars. Just the place to test the manual F-Type then. We'll be booking a return visit soon as we can get our hands on one...
