Calendar girls: Pic Of The Week

OK, no girls, just some lovely pics of endurance racing from the last 12 months

Spare a thought for the motorsport photographers if you will. Their subject may be glamorous but the act of capturing it for our entertainment and delight can be far from it. Take this shot of the AF Corse Ferrari 458s in the pits during a red-light stoppage in practice at the 6 Hours of Circuit of the Americas earlier this year. That painterly effect of the reflections in the rain soaked ground looks lovely but snapper Drew had to lie on his belly in a wet pitlane to capture it.

Credit to him for this though, and the other images from a year of endurance racing he's selected for a calendar you can buy here. First one's free and all that but if you like what you see and fancy a blokey calendar that won't upset co-workers or better halves Drew will be only too happy to sell you the full set.

And if the subject of this photo has got you fired up just wait until next week and hear what the car is like to drive in anger. Watch this space...
