Hiya mate
Well you know how it is, like to improve further and one thing lead to another; Took engine out to work on TKO 600 gearbox conversion to handle the 554 lb/ft torque safely, and addrees a pesky oil leak which turned out to be some of those dodgy crucifix seals Phazed warned of and they just crumbled to pieces when removed then took exhaust manifolds off for a ceramic re-coat along with the turbo pipework, noticed an exhaust bolt thread was shot so took head off, was never really happy with gapless total seal 2nd ring and thought what the hell it's out now so stripped it all down, top hat linered block by Chessmans with bore and final hone having finer tolerances to suit the forged pistons and file-fit rings, new lightened and balanced steel flywheel to accommodate a twin plate clutch. Seems the thinking has changed a little on gapless second ring [which never really made sense to me if I'm honest thinking it should be the top] as it means that when the traditional top-ring passes pressure it leaves the second [gap-less] ring to do two jobs and this can cause the top ring to 'flutter' [lose contact]. Anyhow, I keep telling myself, no more messing after this, then again adjustable boost looks interesting I gotta get out more.
You OK?
