Hi All,

really would like to replace the stereo in my S2.
I would like it to have Bluetooth (so I can pipe my sounds from my phone and use hands free) and DAB (really can't put up with crackly radio 5)...

Anyone got any good suggestions of what I could go for ?

I fitted the Kenwood KDC-BT73DAB last summer.

Does the blue-tooth and the iPhone integration well plus has the DAB. Hands-free is surprisingly effective as well, I ran the mic to the steering column and positioning it just in front of the dash.

Was fairly easy to fit into the S2 but I fitted the DAB aerial under the dash in an attempt to keep it neat and tidy - wouldn't recommend it as the DAB reception is pretty poor.

At some point I need to take it out and fit the DAB aerial correctly on the windscreen as per the instructions.

Cheers,

Phil

I had a windscreen mounted aerial on my Porsche 964 for a while and reception was crap. You really need an externally mounted aerial to get proper DAB reception IMO.

Have the Kenwood fitted in my latest Elise with a screen aerial. Works well in town, DAB drops out if I head înto the lanes to the pint of being annoying. Ran an Alpine CDE136BT in my 111R, with the factory fit DAB aerial, reception was worse than the Kenwood setup in the new car. I think the Aerial is the difference rather than the HU .
Nothing to choose between the 2 head units I bought the Alpine over the Kenwood in the end. I then changed the car and the new one came with the Kenwood installed!
