As per the title.

I don't want to fork out 300-400quid for every wash around Berkeley Square but at the same time it'd be good to find a place where they take a little more care than the eastern European guys who just want to get the job done asap. They don't need to be insured, just to take care!

So, who knows a good place? Preferably in Chelsea, Kensington, Marylebone or Mayfair

Great thanks! How long do they take for an exterior wash? Do you leave the keys with them?

The waves franchise that operate in tesco car parks use only autoglym products. Products used is as important as who does it. Befriend the franchise owner, and the team will do a good job. My local use separate mitts for wheels and lower body which are washed separately from the soap bucket.

Ask topaz detailing if they do a non detail wash

Yup used a waves franchise also, was happy with the service and the fact they use only autoglym products.

No personal experience but I know Shmee uses Posh Wash for his McLaren and from the pictures I've seen, there's usually quite a few other nice things down there.

I do mine myself! That's my OCD coming out - I always find another detail that you can't see in pictures......

But every 3 months the cars get treated to a vallet/detail.....

I use Liquid Perfection in Knightsbridge. Well organised, good job and usually a few interesting motors to look at as well.

Nice cars at a facility does not mean good results, just means facility is in an affluent area! And if Schmee has let you know where his car is washed you can bet he's not paying for it! Nothing wrong with that, but I don't know if he does or doesn't know what a good car wash is.

By 'good result' I don't just mean clean. I mean clean and minimal light scratching or swirls marks caused by the cleaners sponge/mitt etc. (if they are using sponges run a mile!)

You need to watch how they wash a car before taking a view. Are they rinsing mitt in a separate bucket of water between cleaning part of car etc etc. Go to a car care website to get the full (yawn) story.

Remember most people don't know and don't care about swirls etc - if you're swapping cars every few years does it really matter? And of course you can get swirls machine polished out every few years after the've built up from lazy washing.

Amine in canary wharf washes all my cars using a two buckets method.

Costs £20-25 pounds. He is extremely carefull. My cars are all detailed so he knows not to mess it up.

But i only use him and no other guy there.

That's not cool. Hope you can recover the paint work! Was it Posh Wash who screwed your Ferrari?

You won't be the first to say they have swirled up their cars.

I honestly wouldn't trust anyone to do my cars, no matter the reputation they might have good or bad they employ people on minimum wage who honestly don't care about your car the way you do. If you want a job done right do it yourself

If you live in central London, it can be tricky.
