Delta Integrale tribute: Time For Tea?

Just because it's a brilliant vid, that's why!

Granted, this is not the most timely or relevant video to Thursday's motoring news. It probably isn't the finest Delta Integrale video out there either but it's more than worthy of your attention for just a few minutes this afternoon.

Everyone who knows a little about rallying or indeed just cars recognises the Lancia Delta Integrale. Hopefully they'll know 037, Stratos and Fulvia too. The Delta is an icon built on great success and, well, why not celebrate it again right now?

This video is from the Group A era, the 1993 Tour de Corse to be specific. Should you prefer, there are of course gravel rallies, snow rallies, the Group B era and many more videos involving the Delta. It's very easy to spend (others may ignorantly see it as waste) a lot of time watching the boxy old Lancia do its WRC thing. The star drivers here are Carlos Sainz in a fantastic Repsol-liveried car and Andrea Aghini, Lancia having dropped its factory team at the end of 1992 and the cars campaigned by Jolly Club. It wasn't an especially successful season for the team but the driving here is still fairly spectacular.

Enjoy!

Anything about an Integrale (or Lancia in general) is always relevant and timely.

Agreed. Pity that a) it looked a lot better in the Martini livery and b) 1993 was not its most successful year.

This is the ultimate Delta Integrale tribute video (with some S4 thrown in). Amazing cars, amazing footage, amazing music. Look at the white Integrale pull off a flawless 360' donut in the road at 00:28!

These cars were undoubtedly my first love as a petrolhead. I was obsessed with them when I was younger, and I'm still crazy about them now. I have a proper hardback book on the history of the car (and a similar book on my other car passion, Ford Cosworths!). I had a DVD somewhere of it's rallying history that was full of fantastic footage. It had loads of Miki Biasion going nineteen to the dozen; surprising that his name doesn't come up quite so much when top level drivers are talked of as he was on fire in those Lancias.

1993 Tour de Corse won by the Great François Delecour & Daniel Grataloup in the mighty Escort Cosworth ahead of the cheating Toyota team in 2nd & 3rd..

Beautiful. I don't care what livery the cars are in; Morris Marina Beige wouldn't detract from how exciting these are.

I've been lucky enough to have an all too brief ride in the works Integrale that Didier Auriol won the '92 Monte in.

Stop it you're making me jealous. biggrin
I'd love to have a go in a RWD rally car. I'd probably be rubbish, but watching this video it looks like the most fun and exciting time you can have driving any car:

I love the way every corner is a momentum drift or whatever it's called, it's awesome.
