A quiet Friday evening , I was just thinking are all these high performance electric car namely BMW i8 or Tesla alike being a Vegetarian???

I won't call myself a petrolhead in front of some hardcore proper fanatics here, but I am a car lover stretching to a car enthusiast. I just thought no matter how fast those electric cars go, or how fantastic they are. They simply just lack of the petro fumes, engine oil smell and the engine noise. It is like having a veggie burger, it ain't a quarter pound with double cheese and bacon.

Are BBC looking for a replacement for JC?!?!? hehe

Nice post, I see where you are coming from.

The only leccy car that I have driven is a Nissan Leaf and that was impressive, (it was honest).

Mostly it's about the noise and acceleration. Leccy cars have the acceleration but no noise.

Hmm.........

Nikola Tesla was a vegetarian, actually.

Brilliant man, like many greats he wasn't given the credit or respect he deserved.

Go forward a few years and we will all be driving leccy cars .

I can't imagine that there will be forums like this discussing wattage, voltage and Ohms law. It just won't be the same.
The cars will probably drive great if we are allowed any control over them.

Perhaps if there were forums in the days of horse and carts they may have said the same for V8s etc

Beginning to sound like my grandad!!!!

Sitting at the hospital waiting for my daughter this morning, I was reading a handy copy of Evo, and noticed the bhp and torque numbers for the Tesla.

The original S model is 362 bhp and 0-60 in 5.4 seconds, but it's 0-40 time will be awesome as the full 362 bhp is available from standing still.

The new P90D model is quoted as 532bhp, 713 lb ft of torque and 0-60 in 2.8 seconds.

So the complaint was......?

A friend of mine has ordered his P90D with the Ludicrous option.

There is a Croation EV manufacturer who now has a 1300bhp car out, 0-60 in 2.5 seconds and a top end of 215MPH.

It will still sound like a milk float though.
