Have you seen any reviews yet? Have been looking for some time but seen nothing. Looked fantastic at the NEC. Good choice!

Not seen any reviews yet but Triumph seem to usually have well handling bikes.
Dealer gets one in February for demo's so I'll get a spin on that sometime in March when I have some time.
Should start to see reviews around Feb aswell I would guess.
I'm so excited I've already got about 6000 miles of travelling already planned for this year.

When I first looked at it, I thought it was a new type VFR800 for about 2-3 seconds. I mean that as a compliment, if it is as good as a touring bike as the Honda and 'be a triumph', you should be well pleased!

Congrats!

I think it looks like an awesome bike... If I was doing all my travelling in Europe and on sealed roads I'd be getting one! One for the list when (if ever!)I get back!!

Good choice!

Hey Andy nice choice. I have a 2 year old Tiger 955 and I'm thinking of replacing it either with another or (preferably) the ST. Trouble is I'm 6'3" and don't know if the sprint is big enough. I've sat on one but can't get an idea of the riding postion as it's impossible to get a test ride over here...

How tall are you and what do you reckon for long journeys/touring on the ST for a tall bloke?

cheers

To be honest I've no idea how it will hold up to big distance riding. I've never done anything like that before (only passed test last July). However, the old Sprint seemed to be one of the weapons of choice for that sort of thing and early impressions are that this bike has all the things needed to take the crown.

I'm only 5'9 so a relative shortarse compared to your 6' something.

I've got a test ride sorted for mid to late february so I'll try and get it for a good days riding and put my impressions on here.

Dealers should get their demo bikes early Feb according to my local dealer.

Got a copy of More Crap than News this week with the new ST in and it seems to be just as good as I hoped it would be. I guess the mag' reviews will be out soonish. Quite envious of you now Andy.

Steve.

I'll have to force myself to go buy a copy tomorrow, see what it says.
Dealer bikes should be arriving soon so get yourself down your local and blag a test ride.

looks great, tempted myself, the MCN review last week was VERY favourable. They are a very good touring bike, doing a few triumph RAT runs on my tona this year, and expect to see a few of these.

off on the catalunya/andorra trip in may. have a look at the rat site on triumph.co.uk

which dealer did you use?

Yep, just read the review last night and it looked good, despite the fact that MCN seem to have a policy of 'if it aint jap it's crap' (nothing against jap bikes before anyone starts an argument).
I went through the Doncaster dealer (Team Roberts), nice and friendly but TBH it wasn't a hard sale as I already knew exactly what I wanted before I went in. They just had to fill in some paperwork and mark the options boxes. I could have used York or Leeds also but I just happened to be passing Doncaster the day I got brave enough to go for it.

Spain sounds interesting, might be sorting something out that way for October.
