Someones killed the Mexico!
Discussion
O.K. folks you are not going to believe this but the Mex is dead.
Yesterday 43 hours after collecting it from London I was taking it for it's MOT in Ivybridge, the weather was miserable and I was travelling up a single track road when an elderly bloke came down the hill and around the corner in his Daewoo Lanos, he slammed on the anchors and skidded straight into the front of the car. The inertia belt cut in later than it should enabling me to smash my head on the steering wheel before bruising four of my ribs.
I spent a year trying to find one and to say I'm gutted is beyond belief.
To add insult to injury, no road markings so it's going to go 50/50 on insurance.
Fotango server is down but I will post pictures tomorrow.
It's taking over 24hrs for me to post this.

Noooooo Gutted for you Corin. That's rank bad luck, pure and simple.
Knock for knock in such circumstances seems blo99y harsh. How fast were you going at impact ? Is it not the case that if you can demonstrate that you were in control and the other driver was out of control then their insurers should pay. And you get nice new panels and a shiny paint job at no expense to you.
Nooooooooooo! Something similar happened to a friend of mine on his 6 hour old motorbike. He stopped on a narrow country lane to let a clapham tractor (think it was a new rangerover) past and she didn't bother to drive round him, just over his new bike; he injured himself quite badly just jumping clear. Some people....
As a fellow RWD escort enthusiast my heart goes out to you.

I was talking to Corin tonight, I haven't seen the pictures but from what he said the car is not repairable - wing, inner wing, bonnet, scuttle panel ,etc, etc.
Just glad you're just bruised Corin (if you see what I mean) - If you get it back from the insurance, maybe you can salvage the parts to ease the financial side of it whilst you look for another - 'cos I just know you will!
Chin up mate, there's another one out there with your name on it, I just know.
Edited to add, just seen the pics, not good.
