The outriggers and chassis are 3D modelled for accuracy by our qualified design team to a 0.001 tolerance and made using the highest grade of materials and anti-corrosion coatings.

0.001 tolerance? 0.001 tolerance of what? Millimetres? Inches? Kilometres? Bananas?
Highest grade of materials? What does this mean? Did the materials do well at school? Were they a straight A student?
Nasty amateurish advert. People make these outlandish statements that actually mean nothing.

Yeah but don't forget, "These are racing specifications far more advanced than the original keeping up with technological advancements in the automotive and aerospace industry"

So its quite clearly a carbon monocoque, but I can't quite tell from the fking ste blurry pictures.

Kind of crap eBay advert i'd expect when buying an electric turbocharger for my corsa innit.

TVR Motor Cars Limited (08502855) – incorporated 24 April 2013

Director – James Davison (born 1970) – car designer/product designer

Nettledowne Orchard Road, Pratts Bottom, Kent, BR6 7NS

Although any one could register a tvr limited company if they fancy it ..,
"Best-ist marigold TVR UK limited" is probably still available.

It would be available as I know that the names were changed by force, but he has the knowledge the qualifications and the experience in his team as they built our cars!!!!

You lot are so quick to judge people... Grow up. Unless of course you have the knowledge about the product on offer, which I assume that you don't.

If you actually read the advert, you would have seen it says "...0.001mm tolerance..." that mm bit after the digits refers to millimetres.
What an amateurish nasty post. wink

Quite correct. It says that NOW, but it didn't when the comment was made by Andy_mr2sc.

Quite, there is no need for derogative comments, at least the guys are the first to design a chassis of this type, good for them!
We should be in support as they are looking after our own interests.

Would be very interesting to know more about this chassis - whether its actually different (pick-up points, geometry etc) or a replica of standard made to better tolerances...

If different, I wonder if it would require different components (wishbones, hubs etc), like the sportmotive chassis..?

I wonder if the owner is on Pistonheads - would be interesting if he/they posted here, and were able to answer questions and tell us actual facts about it.

We being primary target market etc...

Looks bloody good value. If it was the same as the original, even better. Bolt-off and then bolt-on.

Thank you Roy. I Copied and pasted the wording so no it didn't mention mm. I was having a laugh and was not meant to be a serious attack on the company.
Mores the point if they are making outrigger kits to 0.001mm that is a) a complete waste of time and cost given the application and b) they should work for F1 teams as they rarely keep those levels of accuracy when building chassis.

Well the ad is no longer available, not sure if it just expired.

Does look interesting though, especially if the workmanship is up to scratch.

Their accuracy claims have an overpowering whiff to them. An accuracy of single microns? Yes, the 3D cad model would have such a tolerance if so set, but the chassis its self? That little tid-bit would have me wary straight off.
