Anyone normally go to this? Went to a French one a while back expecting to find DS's, Alpines and hoards of Gallic chod, and instead found Clios. Is the TVR one any good?

Hi,

It is usually fairly busy with many TVRs and Lotuses turning up and sometimes some Ginettas and Marcos specially when the it is dry and warm (and to be fair there are even people attending in the wet and cold)… I am pretty sure that tomorrow will be really busy if there weather carries on like this (I have been to a few where the car park was overflowing…).

I might pop over tomorrow, but unlikely that I’ll come in the Chimaera as I live only 10 - 15 minutes away and it is too much hassle going to the garage (a mile from my house in North West London), get the TVR, to the Ace Café and go back to the garage to drop of the Chimaera (getting the Chimaera in the garage is not always easy as it not much wider that the car…) so if I do come it’ll be on my Vespa (Black Vespa GT 200 with a couple of “La Mans Classic stickers” on it.). I have long-ish hair (for a guy) and a beard, do not hesitate to come and say “hi” if you and I are there.

I am French myself and always wanted to go to a “French night” at the Ace Café, but so far I have not attended one… But I guess if it is to see Clios only it might not be worth it… I do LOVE DSs and Alpines (and one day will have to have one of those…).

Maybe see you tomorrow.

Me too hopefully. May be in the multi-coloured lacquer peeled Chim (will park around the corner LOL), or on the bike depending on timing.
What time do most people get there. Thought of hitting the South Circ in rush-hour sounds like a bit of a mission, hence the bike if I'm running late

Hi guys,

The mrs’s going out for a drink tonight, so I’ll be at home doing DIY or chilling as someone needs to be at home looking after our 23 month old son and it looks like tonight it’ll be me…

If things change I’ll pop over.

What a bum night .

Left at 6.15, zooming around the M26, just before the M4 all super solid!!!

Diverted down the A30 to the North Circular and sat in stationary traffic for 20 minutes.

Decided to cut my loses and just arrived home 2 3/4 hours later mad

London and all its overcrowded, congested glory 1, phazed 0.

I can beat that for a bum night. Arrived at half 8, having dealt with the traffic on the M25. Smallish turnout, filled the car park but no more. Left at half 10, taxi driver reverses into my S1 on London Bridge on the tour through London on the way back. Only did it to grab some nice pics.

Not happy. mad

Sorry to hear that dude, hope the damage is not too bad.

I didn't make it either. The traffic's a nightmare these days, and I gave up toomad
I live in Chessington and work in Kingston (4.5 miles), yet now have to commute on bike as can take 1.5hrs on a bad day now frown
Each time I go to New Zealand (other half's a Kiwi), it gets harder to come back to the over crowded roads and trains.
I love this country, so much to do and many great events, yet I find myself missing more and more due to the thought of sitting in standstill traffic for hoursfrown

The Chim may well be on it's way down under in the next couple of yearswavey
