Afternoon All

I was at a classic car road run yesterday around the villages North of Cambridge with the street lined with people, and a few stop off's throughout the day.

I Have attended this charity event for a few years, usually in a Ford Pop and Austin 7 van, but this year I took the Tuscan.

What really surprised me was the amount of young children showing a huge interest in the car, the wife was I front of me in the Vangaurd and all she could hear was "wow look it's a TVR...." These youngsters were 6-10 year old, and recognised the car/brand straight away. On the stop off's I was bombarded with kids wanting to sit in it and have pictures taken, which I obviously obliged

It's bloody fantastic for TVR that this generation have such an interest in TVR, hopefully these children's children will keep these cars on the road for years after We have all turned up our toes

Anyone else experience the same?

I have twin girls and one of their tasks a little while ago was to do something to raise a little money for charity.
They did this a class at a time (they are in separate classes) over the period of a few days.
One of my daughters made bookmarks with pictures of ponies etc on them and eventually sold out.
The second daughter decided as the bookmarks did well also to do bookmarks but this time did them with pictures of my TVRs on them. They sold out in seconds once one kid had seen one. Interestingly (and not wanting to sound sexist) as many girls bought them as boys and apparently almost all the kids knew that they were TVRs (but unsurprisingly struggled with the model).

I find most adults try and prove they know something about TVR's and therefore - when querying my Sagaris - ask "is that a Tuscan?". I guess that's what swordfish did for TVR!

The Sagaris has got to be one of the most evil looking, stunning cars made, the fact it looks so fresh at 10 Years old is testament to its design IMO.
Tuscan Mk1 looks great too.

Couldn't agree more although I might be slightly biased. The new owners of TVR could do a lot worse than just re-introduce the Sagaris with a V8 in convertible or Targa guise

I've had it before, cleaning the car in the drive and heard kids of about 10 years of age saying "Look, TVR!"

I think it's brilliant.

I find most adults say something more along the lines of "A TVR eh, they all break down don't they?" I guess that's what Top Gear did for TVR!

The Sagaris with an AMG bi turbo V8 would be pretty much perfection to me.

I get that a lot, or 'my mate had one and it was always breaking down' but when questioned they can't answer what model their mate had, when he had it, what it looked like or anything about it...

Gran Turismo 4,5 and 6 I'd guess... explains the worldwide awareness of TVR.

The cars are some of the most fun to drive in the games too... which helps as well!

Played all the Gran Turismo games when I was younger. I still remember trying to control the Griffith and Cerbera in the original game even when I was just 12-13 years old in secondary school, a guy in my village had a Griff too and used to see it on occasion rumbling by and both of these things made me want one so so bad.

Got my T350c at 26 years old, 13 year old dream realisedsmile

Nowadays TVR is still well represented in the video games complete with the lairy handing, I think we're going to be fine.

I understand that TVR started to get poor reviews from Top Gear after JC and PW had a "personal disagreement", nothing really to do with cars.

That's what I heard too Roy. Clarkson used to go shooting with Peter Wheeler but had a falling out with him. Seems Clarkson often has a falling out with people.

I'd agree, most of the awareness with the younger generation is probably due to the fact TVRs are still used in current video game franchises such as Gran Turismo and Forza.

Loads of Sag Forza mods out there. People customise them and then keep publishing their mods.

So plenty of awareness to be sure!
