Spa in an Elise 111R: PHTV

Lotus Elise 111R Racing At Spa Francochamps  

Well with Lotus having reached 40,000 cars off its Small Car Platform now, what better time to feature an Elise video?

This video comes from PHer eracing111 at Spa and, well, it looks very good actually. It appears to be practice for the Lotus Elise UK Trophy and going under three minutes certainly isn't hanging around for a road car, especially one that isn't that powerful. There are some very tidy downshifts in there as well - nice work!

Strangest road going 111R I've ever seen, and i'm going to Elevenerife for my holiday too!

It is a road car... was my daily! Of course it can't beat a race car, but I got close to the times that the guys in the Elise Trophy were doing (I believe I would have qualified 11th or so last year with this lap)

Thanks for the nice comments about the driving skills.

As for the helmet choice... the man is my hero, my god. So why not?! Instead the blue stripe I have a red one as per my country colors (Portugal).

111R has a narrow 'on cam' rev range so keeping it on the boil (above 5800rpm if I remember) can mean some changes where not ideal.

Is it me or is PHTV useless.

Most of the time it will not play or is slow to play.
No such issues with youtube.

Correction I think it just doesn't like my use of adbloc on chrome

That is exactly it! I tried once in 5th but it totally didn't work... that was the best I managed...
With better tyres for sure I would have carried a little bit more speed...

Theres is an old Japanese proverb that says, "To give a gold coin to a cockroach" what this means is do not offer things of beauty to a person incapable of appreciating them. Hello from Japan my friend, the time of dial up is well over welcome to 2015! I find both James and Dan extremely learned and offer humour about cars, I like them very much, also Dangerous Dan in his gentle simple nature!
