For many decades now Ford Escorts have captivated rally spectators the world over. Whether rear- or four-wheel drive, Escorts have enjoyed huge success and adoration from followers.

That continues to this day in classic motorsport. Fans of the car in period are now campaigning them in historic motorsport and introducing the Escort legend to a new generation of fans. One of those is Jesse Crosse, PH contributor and owner of a Group 4 Mk2 RS. His latest report and this fantastic pic comes from the Woodbridge Stages rally where the weather wasn't exactly conducive to success in a rear-wheel drive Escort... Still, what better way to brighten a gloomy pic than with a flash of airborne yellow Ford?

MK2 Escorts just look so good in race or rally trim.

I'm glad I'm of an age where we used to enjoy Escorts for a few hundred quid. My last was a Daytona yellow RS2000 Custom, that I got from the classifieds in Motoring News. Big valve pinto on 40's and an LSD, tax and text and sideways everywhere. All for £900. Happy Days.
