Ferrari 212 Export Barchetta: Pic Of The Week

The very last Touring bodied 212 Export up for grabs at the upcoming RM Auction

The silly season for mega money classic car auctions is upon us and the options from the lavish catalogues of RM Auctions and others for a Pic Of The Week were bountiful. We've gone with this though, something that can only be described as a spectacular, early racing Ferrari with period competition history and matching numbers. How much? Oh, lots.

You can read the full story on RM's online catalogue but this final Touring-bodied 212 Export model was no garage queen at the start of its life, racing in the Targa Florio in 1952 and 1953 and then entered in the 1956 Mille Miglia. Fortunately for the soon-to-be new owner, this 212 has its original engine, gearbox and axle and has been a household name at many a top flight Concours d'Elegance.

If that doesnt take your fancy or your pockets aren't quite as deep, RM Auctions has a few other beauties including the £1million Fiat we reported on earlier in the week.
