Dodge Challenger R/T: PH Ad Break

"Careful boy, I'll book you for sassing a police officer"

Here's a minute of commercial gold to make you smile. There's an iconic muscle car in its best colour, opportunity to laugh at American law enforcement officials and the obligatory use of a pretty girl to sell a fast car. All in 60 seconds.

What we have is your stereotypically rotund patrolman pulling over a young gent in his new Plum Crazy Challenger R/T for driving a racing car within state limits. Naughty boy. But it's not a racing car, our young protagonist protests, for it has wipers and headlights. Our cigar-wielding policeman points to the tyres, the stripes and the 440ci (!) V8 to suggest the opposite. All very entertaining.

So are you Dodge material? Watch the vid and let us know!

Nice purple! Really liked what Aaron Kaufmann did to the '71 Scat Pack on Gas Monkey Garage.

It's not a very referenceable film tbh because he doesn't talk that much.

I remember finding these on a dodge fansite years ago before the days of youtube... great to see it again.

Shame about the recording quality on this one from the following year:

Is the cop the prototype for Roscoe P Coltrane in the Bond film?

Sheriff Harland (?) Pepper I think you mean. Very likely I'd say, and I think he was in 2 Bond films in total; Live and Let Die and a cameo in Man With A Golden Gun.

Also very similar to the cop who appeared in the Smokey films. Man With A Golden Gun is poor but it's still 1000 times better than any of that Bandit rubbish.

Roscoe was in Dukes of Hazard; sadly the actor who played him (James Best) died recently.

Thanks abitlike, sorry about getting the character's name wrong, I was sure he was in more than one Bond film. Great ad though!

What a great add! a little more cheese would be welcome today, instead of blurred images and cars not visiting petrol stations upsetting an openly black mailed child.
