MotoGP delivers on another cracking race with all to play for

After dominating in Italy, could Spain see Lorenzo's current run of form continue? With the two Suzukis going like rockets (and not blowing up) it wasn't going to be easy. Or was it?

With the hole-shot secured, it was up to Marquez to keep race leader Lorenzo honest and not allow him to escape. Behind, Cal hit the dirt on lap one and Rossi was busy making up for a poor qualifying performance, slotting into fourth behind Dovi. Then, as his nightmare season continues, Marquez hit the deck again after running into a bend way too hot and nearly taking out Jorge! Could Rossi, who was now up into second place, catch Lorenzo up? It was going to be a hard ask.

In the end a MotoGP race that promised much delivered another easy Lorenzo win and a surprising number of riders on the floor. Rossi kept his title challenge alive with a second place and Pedrosa made a welcome return to the podium with a third. That's four wins on the bounce for Lorenzo, which is worrying for the rest of the MotoGP field...

Sam Lowes needed a decent start to avoid the usual Moto2 carnage in Catalunya's first turn and after a belter he soon tucked in behind race leader Rabat. By lap two he was in the lead himself, however he soon dropped to third as Rabat and Rins broke clear. In the end a three-way battle saw Zarco take the win from Rins and Rabat with Lowes in fourth.

Moto3 and Danny Kent's title charge remains on the rails thanks a brilliantly timed move on the last lap that saw him take a win and become the first Brit since Barry Sheene to take four wins in a season. The kid is pure class.

To be fair, the main event may have been dull, but the lower classes were very entertaining smile
