Hi all,

I'm sure this has been discussed before but any advise on who to got for multi-car insurance. I have a 991 GT3 and just purchased a Cayenne diesel as a daily driver. I just spent an hour talking to Aviva who came back with ridiculous conditions (GT3 must be locked in a garage between 10pm and 6am at all times) and excess it wasn't worth it. The GT3 is currently with Porsche who are underwritten by Aviva!!

I have a family fleet policy with Pace Ward. http://www.paceward.com/

Been with them for about 5 years now and they have always been very competitive and good people to deal with.

I have never found a multicar policy which is cheaper than doing each car separately - shopping around for each car has always proved to be a better deal - for example, 3 years ago - Admiral quoted me £1,500 for 3 cars, which I got down to £950 by shopping around...

With Admiral multi car at present with 3 cars. Significantly cheaper than anywhere else at the last renewal.

This only applies when the car is at home, a lot of policies ask for this now, surely not a problem if you have a garage?
Someone in the Ferrari section asked about F430 insurance might be worth a look at replies!

This is a very good thread over on Ferrari Insurance. Some experienced guys talking about multi policies. Cheapest is not always best.

I did that until I got an alternative quote on renewal. The alternative was literally a third of the Pace Ward (Chaucer) cost. They went down in my estimation at that point. Nice people to deal with though.

I'm with Nationwide (LV Insurance). Not a multi car policy, but my NCD is reflected on the second car. Reasonable excess, and no requirement to keep garaged.

Without trying to be funny it all depends on whether you have a claim or not - the cheapest quotes are usually for a good reason - I am happy to insure my kids cars with Admiral but would never insure anything of real value or anything ever so slightly not average. Chubb or Zurich or Aviva generally are pretty good in terms of cover but you will pay for it.Alternatively go through a broker and let them do all the painful work.

I discovered this the hard way. I insured a rolling fleet of 4-6 cars through a multicar policy, then last year shopped around car by car and chopped the aggregate premium by almost £1000. As long as I diarise renewal dates (and most insurers provide email reminders anway), it's not the huge hassle I thought it would be.

The GT3 is insured alongside one other car with ClassicLine.
