Win a new Honda Civic Type R!

From Southampton to Edinburgh, here's where to enter our Type R comp over the next few weeks

UPDATE 18/09/15:
PHers are doing us proud in Honda's Civic Type R competition and setting some cracking lap times on the simulator. Not attempted it yet? There's still time! Whether you live in Wales, Scotland or England there are still a scattering of locations left before the competition comes to a close:

September 17-18 - Festival Square, Edinburgh
September 26-27 - West Quay, Southampton
October 3-4 - St David's, Cardiff
October 10-11 - Victoria Centre, Nottingham
October 17-18 - Metro Shopping Centre, Newcastle
October 24-25 - Braehead, Glasgow
October 31 - November 1 - Westfield, Stratford

So go and give it a try, and let us know how you get on. Hopefully we'll see one of you behind the wheel next year at a Sunday Service!

Original story 16/07/15:
Want to own a new Honda Civic Type R? Probably a silly question. Now Honda is giving one away for 12 months as part of its launch promotion for the car. All you have to do is set the fastest lap around the Nurburgring GP track (the queue might be a bit long for full 'ring laps...) on its simulator. This is a public competition, not solely for PHers, but you can sign up here for a queue jump pass to get straight onto the starting line.

Honda is touring the UK with the simulator over the next three months, meaning there are plenty of opportunities to set the best virtual time.

July is going to see the simulator at the following locations, with plenty more to follow:

July 17-19 - Westfield, London
July 24-26 - Silverstone Classic, Northamptonshire
July 31-August 2 - CarFest North, Cheshire

Take a look at the full list of dates and locations on Honda's King of the Hell site, then just fill out the PH Queue Jump form here and we'll email you with your pass to make sure there's no hanging around. Have you got what it takes? Best start practising...

You must be over 25 and have held a full clean UK driving licence for a minimum of three years. Once that's sorted, all you need to do is set the fastest lap and the car is yours. The competition begins this weekend and runs until October - do PH proud!

The promoter is Honda Motor Europe Limited. Click here for full terms and conditions on the promotion.

Why on earth do you need to be 25 years old for this?

I would imagine as a 24 year old professional and a previous Type R owner, I (and many others between 21-24) would fall straight into Honda's target demographic?

Great competition if you live in mid to southern England. Thought there would be at least one date in Scotland. Oh well............

Heading to Westfield on Saturday, shouldn't imagine there will be too many over 25's with Ring experience/give a st so I assume I'll get the quickest time and win. If anyone wants a test drive let me know....... wink

Not wanting to sound ungrateful but why not have the competition to win the car outright not just a year.

Because giving a car away costs £30k+ and this, er, doesn't hehe

I'm useless at driving games anyway so shan't bother.

... do you actually "own" something if a manufacturer gives it to you for a year FOC?.... I think "free use for a year" might be more accurate

Which bloody Westfield, London?

I live right next to the one in Stratford.

Had this been to win the actual car then I would travel afar, but for just a years use... Meh, not really worth it, unless it's in Stratford!

I know I can put in a respectable lap time anyway...
