All show, no go.........Skoda Citigo Monte Carlo
Discussion
Mrs motormadfrosty's new car, all 59bhp of it. 2 weeks into ownership and got to say, I love it. There is something rewarding about using all of the car's power all of the time and if I get the choice of taking Monte or my T sport, I grab the Skoda's keys every time.
The most surprising thing to me is that I was expecting it to feel a bit "cheap" but find it very well put together.
Sorry for the poor quality pictures -

Mrs B has an Up - same car different badge.
On the country lanes round here it's huge amounts of fun.
Best analogy I can think of is with my first car, a Mini 850 - wheel in each corner and no power so the way make progress is to preserve momentum.
But it's not a bad all rounder either - it also sits at 70 on the motorway without too much stress and isn't an unpleasant a place to be - I did 2 hours once and didn't find it too much of a hardship, not sure I'd want to do much more though.
For the price, I think they're the best value car around at the moment.

Our plan was the get the base Up, wife's only requirement was that it had to be white. So we visited the local VW dealer and it was a disappointing experience, they could not find a demo for us and were unsure where it was On the country lanes round here it's huge amounts of fun.

The Skoda dealer was 2 miles down the road, popped in, 5 minutes later we were given the keys to a top spec Greentech with heated seats and told to take it for as long as we wanted. On returning, they were unloading a red Citigo Monte Carlo, wife liked it, job jobbed. I am still surprised by the extras, I know a lot are stick on but things like the flat bottom steering wheel and gloss dash make it a nice place to be.
Only averaging 52mpg but hope to get that up a bit by taking it on its first long run over the weekend. What do you get from the Up? I have read that they tend to get more efficient as they are run in.

I got given an Up! recently and it was a massive amount of fun on a tight twisty road... even saw 110 in it after quite a while of WOT, haha.
So I can totally understand why you are enjoying your Citigo, it looks funky with the dark accessories too.
Cheers,
Grant
Not sure what "WOT" is, but I want some WOT, google reckons it's something to do with World Of Tanks. I am going with Wind Of Tornadoes because the book says 99mph flat out.So I can totally understand why you are enjoying your Citigo, it looks funky with the dark accessories too.

I've never had a car cost so little - VW did a years free insurance, 3 years free servicing and she got the sat nav/computer thing chucked in, all for under £10k.
