Gather it's had lots of paint so that needs to be checked . If comfort model then smaller audience .

Good luck

You should look at this car too. I know the car and the owner and you would be hard pushed to find a better example imo.

Is he just hoping to take advantage of the GT3 boom? Why would you swap it for a GT4!

I not sure that it matters does it? - The bigger picture is there is a very good 997 GT3 for sale that I can comment on as I know the car.

The West Sussex has had quite a bit of paint according to a friend who went to see it. There's a much nicer CS in white for sale for not much more. No rev range activity and ceramics as well. Not yet advertised.

Would you mind sending me a PM/email as to why not? (They've moved about 3 miles from me so I'm interested in them for servicing and I suppose it's likely I would look there when its time to change.) For a GT3 though, wouldn't you buy on the condition of the car rather than the dealer?

Scooty, excuse my ignorance, but how do you know it's had lots of paint work?

Guess it implies it's had some scrapes or worse!

Car with that many owners the first thing I'd check is rev range activity but as it's OPC it should be kosher. If I were you I'd ask OPC to give you rev range data plus average speed too (if it's really high on a low mileage car it could have been thrashed round a track a lot, not that it's a bad thing in itself).

I almost bought a car from OPC in the Midlands (won't say which branch exactly). After some looking into service history, etc something didn't quite add up and the mileage looked quite low. On pushing them more and more they finally admitted it had an engine change under warranty. Again not a bad thing it's had a new engine but they should have owned up much sooner plus, whilst the engine mileage is reasonably low due to new engine, the rest of the car has done more miles so you shouldn't be pricing the car against cars with a similar mileage as the rest of the car has done more miles. Would have expected OPC to have been more honest and upfront but no chance!

Hopefully that makes sense or have I just rambled?!

keep it lit

No problem Hugo.
I know someone that spent a good hour all round the car y'day who noted paint on the drivers side front wing and rear quarter panel along With overspray inside the door panels. This was just his observation so maybe needs a 2nd opinion .

As with everything a professional opinion is key and this is just a petrol heads forum. Putting that aside for a minute I'm a fan of CS but appreciate that's not everyone.

My old car . In fact my garage in the picture ! :-) . It's a great spec car, which I only sold when a last minute 991 GT3 slot became available . I bought from 911 Virgin for what was top money before the current surge . Im sure the car must still have a few months porsche warranty with it .

Littles touches like yellow ceramics with yellow seat belts . The white cage with select pieces of white trim really set it off .

Would I be right saying the car pictured in garage with gt3 badges on doors had a rs engine lid and carbon rear wing on ? Was removed by Virgin and replaced with standard lid

East Sussex car has clear rev range check , they did tell me the front bumper and bonnet would be repainted but have yet to go and see it ..... Too many owners ... Non franchised service in early life

OP are you specifically looking for a comfort model ?

Seemingly you don't permit PM's

Find out the operating hours, OPC can get this from ECU... What's the average speed (miles/hours), could throw up something interesting...

Also look at miles between services.

Does anything look odd?

In my experience an OPC are just as happy to talk rubbish as any Arthur Daley set up.
When I rang one OPC regarding a 991 for sale the salesman flatly denied the car was an ex demo car even though
unbeknown to him I'd had the car on demo. When he realised id had the car on demo the OPC salesman went quiet
for a few seconds before saying 'it's NOT a demo car- it's owned by the garage MD but he often lends it to people'
