Hi there,

I have a trickle charger which is a non-aston Martin charger. It has crocodile clip style connectors so I can't attach in the boot. Should I attach it to the positive point under the bonnet drivers side and negative to something metal, directly to the battery behind the driver's seat, or something else?

Ideally I'd like to attach to the under bonnet as it's easier but I'm not sure it will work. I'm trying to avoid a trip to JCT to have the mirrors reset (again)....

Thanks

Andrew

Buy a cigarette lighter attachment and swap it over with the crocodile clips and then use the adaptor in the boot.

There's a battery point under the bonnet (a positive one) but no mention in the manual as to whether or not it is ok to trickle charge using that and some random earth point.... The manual tells you where to connect a cigarette lighter ended trickle charger.

So - is it ok to trickle charge using the battery point and some random earth point under the bonnet?

I could go and get a cigarette lighter attachment but that means spending £ which I was trying to avoid.

I have been doing this for 4.5 years on the DB9 and it works just fine. It also has the advantage that you are unlikely to drive off with the bonnet open.

You'll burn in hell for that one hehe

OP the manual talks about how to jump start it from a bettery pack IIRC
Just use the same connection points
When I had a dodgy battery I had the AM one in the boot and a similar one to yours under the bonnet
I just used one of the earth points to the body for the wiring harness.
Its not like its going to be pull high current wink
