For France,Italy,Switzerland, and Austria, is it still the consensus not to get headlights switched over? Wont be driving at night, but have heard tales of Swiss getting a bit 'keen' on legislation in tunnels.
Does anyone switch off the speed camera facility on the sat nav?

Hi Rob. We were over there recently and no problems. All driving during daylight hours and no issues in tunnels.

If it is your Garmin sat nav in the car it doesn't show cameras in those countries where they are not allowed - or at least ours doesn't.

Have a good trip.

The copy e mail that I sent you from AM with location of tag on cars with the shaded area filled up by rear view mirror.
I think it just said 'stick it as close as you can to the mirror'

sat navs (tom tom for sure) in countries where the camera location identifier is illegal ie France, wont show a camera any more.
but...
they now help you stay safe by identifying "accident black spots" for you. this is perfectly legal and is even on the ones you buy in that country.
they are now like that out of the box or just download the latest firmware and it will do that for you if you haven't in a while.
devices like a road angel or a pogo that just show cameras and detect laser are very illegal in those countries, fines are very high and if you have ones that scatter the laser when they point the gun at you, then you can expect to lose the car for a considerable time. you will not be allowed to remove it. you will not be able to continue your journey. the court action that will follow will be eye watering.
at car events like le mans they have been known to sit at tollbooths sweeping everyone exiting to see if the guns stutter.

Bloody hell shame they are not so efficient at Calais!

My TT shows them as a "safety zone" in France but not the exact location of the camera wink
Works fine in all others AFAIK
