We were there but not with a stand as it was a last minute decision as there was a conflict in time and space: I had to take off from Heathrow at 1830 so time was limited. We took the prototype bonnet which will form part of the Cerberus project (a more masculine version of the Cerbera). Please see the article under TVR news.

Was it the bonnet fitted to the light purple Cerb ? If so, then I have a couple of pics...

Not a fan I'm afraid Clive. Good attempt though. It just looks to me like the bonnet melted when you look at it from the front.

How long before a Cerberra sunroof then ? May sway my decision away from a Griffith..

Cheers

My hats off to anyone with the bottle to attack a fine car and make it 'different' but I just wonder how long it's going to be, especially with some of the used car prices (£16k Cerberas, £10k Chimaeras/Griffs) and with cars like the Carisma Cerbera appearing in Maxy P, before we start seeing Chimaeras with Mitsubishi Evo bonnet vents, Griffs with M3 mirrors, or Cerberas with under body neons and blue led washer jets All done with excellent workmanship of course after years of honeing there skills blending Veilside Supra kits on to Caviliers

I've seen a blue S plate Cerbera on spider alloys with a huge bit missing out of the bonnet. Mesh grill at the bottom of it, sides blended nicely in, looked really nice.

No idea whose it is or where the mod was done though.

Matt.

Is the bonnet going to be avaiable for Chimaera's?

Not this version but we may do a modified bonnet when we do the coupe roof for the Chimaera

That was the plan - a one-piece Tuscan bonnet for the V8 Cerbera. We can modify it for a Speed 6 Cerbera then there would be an easy visual distinction other than the badge.

Did you see it at Duxford or just the images? It looks better in the flesh. When you think about it the 'melted' look is what TVR did with the Tuscan.

Cerbera sunroof will be this winter (in time for next spring).

Matt,

That was probably my car you saw - its S696 DRC in Lotus Azure Blue with graphite spiders. Its got the bonnet vent you mentioned and a L/W-style twin headlight conversion.

I bought it two years ago and the guy I bought it from had already done the conversion - he does bodywork on TVR's. He reckoned the vent increases stability at high speeds, although I've only got his word for that!

Haven't seen any others yet, but I quite like it.

Jes.

Guess it's an attempt at the same pressure-reduction as the slats on the Sagaris's wheel arches?

Yeah, that was me and it was just before I joined PH. Shame I missed your post at the time. Can't recall which film I was watching...

I read through the link and someone said that they thought my car had been up for sale a few months before and it was damaged. I've owned it since Jan 02, never tried to sell it (yet) or had a prang in it (touch wood).

The bonnet vent isn't a Zertec one, its a one-off job. I'm having the mesh replaced after Easter with a finer one which won't be as see-through. Its a bit of a shock when you first see it, being used to the smooth bonnet of a Cerbera, but its definitely grown on me.

The damaged one was bought by Al (Tweety) I think, and was a greeny colour. His had a bonnet vent and a few other mods to the front...
