Flux rescue. Who's underneath?

Hi guys

Just been on the phone to Adrian flux to renew the policy on my toy. Whilst on hold, I have listened to the advertising and flux rescue was mentioned. 'With over 1800 patrols, we've got you covered' yada yada yada. Home start, roadside, all of that stuff available.

I'm currently about to phone the RAC to moan yet again that last years £100 policy seems to magically be £170 come renewal time.

So, who's underlying the flux rescue? Are they farming straight out to the AA/ RAC, or just a big network of locals? Anyone got any experience of them at all?

A large network of local companies in my experience. Had to have the XJR-S recovered by them twice this year, and the MINI once, all local companies Superb value too (I think we pay £60 per car which includes full european cover, home start and a few other bits that I can't recall), I'd definitely recommend them.

Used them once when car broke down in Greenwich, it was a chap from Cedar's Assist (local recovery firm) that came and took the car home, not a bad service.

Had to use them twice from over 100 miles away in my @@@{@{@@['..useless BMWd N47 engine first Turbo second time Chain.Its a network of local indies basically

They do not fix on the side of road you are towed to where you want to go both took around 90 minutes to get there,

What did interest me was the first time an E europeon guy turned up who knew no English whatsoever ,I mean NONE! just grunts.....how did he get that job ? Crazy,his driving was well lets say could have been better.

The second guy was English had a good convo with him,the hours and miles he did really surprised me.Wages gone down the tubes with er um er competition.

Hi,

As mentioned, we work with over 1800 patrols - this means that wherever you breakdown, a local approved recovery agent will be sent out to recover you.

This means you aren't going to be greeted by 'Dodgey Dave' and his flat bed - but a reputable recovery agent within the local area of you breaking down. The system works on a 'ping' type basis where the recovery agents are alerted of the breakdown, given a certain amount of time to respond before moving onto the next agent. This does also mean that typically you are going to be with someone quicker than waiting for a recovery agent that just uses their own patrols.

As an example I actually managed to drop my keys down the stairs at Flux HQ a few months ago (My only key at the time too), they came apart & the internals decided to fall in to a million and one pieces! Meaning the transponder was useless and the car wouldn't start. I called Flux Rescue & was recovered by Tears Recovery, the chap spent ~20 minutes attempting to piece the internals together before admitting defeat recovering me home - They turned up within 35 minutes of me calling too.
