How to drift with Ken Block: Time For Tea?

Autocar gets a lift with Kenny from the Block and his wild 850hp Mustang

Ah, the mythical Hoonicorn! Ken Block's latest creation has been much coveted since its creation and here we have the car at Silverstone with a smoky demo from the man himself.

The video comes from our colleagues at Autocar and includes cornering angles at Silverstone you will never have seen before. Probably more smoke than you've seen at Silverstone before as well, plus an American size portion of V8 thunder and fury.

There's a brief chat with his Blockness too, talking about his long held desire to race in WRC and how his cars are set up like gravel rally cars. It's a very interesting chat actually but should you wish to jump straight to the skids they begin four and a half minutes in. Enjoy!

Watch the video here.

I saw that video yesterday. The title is very misleading. The only thing I learned is that Ken Block has done a lot of miles on gravel rally stages and that the Autocar bloke thought he was very good.

He makes great videos would like him though to use some standard super cars as a change to purpose made rally type cars ,it would be interesting to see a lambo etc getting totally lairy driven flat out on city roads.

Really good, right up until the cr@ppy music started and blotted out the noise of that glorious V8.

His videos were entertaining, but you can only drift around someone on a Segway so many times, and calling himself a rally driver is like calling Cheryl Cole a singer. Seems like a nice guy though.

Yep agree 100%, put him in a group B venom spitting monster in the 1000 lakes against the likes of Vatanen, Arrikala or Rohl and it would perhaps be a different example of "skill".

EFA for my abysmal spelling.

This artform doesn't work so well on a track, looks better in downtown LA or the Baja Desert methinks...

Also agree it would be good to see Block do the same with normal and supercars.

Yeah he's a st rally driver....

"His rally success includes 2nd overall Rally America National Championship finishes in 2006 and 2008, and finished 3rd overall in 2007. In just over three years Block has amassed 20 podiums and 10 overall victories.- See more at: http://www.rally-america.com/drivers/view/ra-2248#... "

Just because he's not up to the standards of some of the European greats (in WRC) does not mean he isn't an accomplished rally driver.

It's great that he's made so much money that he can go out and create entertaining videos for us all to watch. I like that in conjunction with Ford they create crazy vehicles like that 850bhp Mustang.

I generally find normal drifting outside of Japan a little boring, but Ken Block certainly entertains and has a great talent.

Have to agree. I don't get all the negativity he receives regarding his driving skills. He comes across quite humble when talking about rallying and seems thankful just to be there doing something that he loves.

I wouldn't worry about it. The nearest the keyboard warriors on here have been to a "rally driver" is falling over in the dark trying to find Sweet Lamb.

Good video totally ruined by the horrendous music. Never understand why this is done.

At least the Yanks have graduated from Soft/Hard Rock that usually accompanies their 'action' videos. Not a great improvement though...
