Driveshaf stuck on hub
Discussion
............and it was all going so well!!
Noticed a split gaiter on the driveshaft, it can't have been split long as the grease, which is splatter everywhere, is fresh with no road crap in it. So I thought I would just whip off the driveshaft and put on a new one - nothing to it and have done loads before. Taken out all 12 bolts and the shaft frees up easily off the diff but is stuck tight in the hub carrier. So I have taken out the two bottom bolts off the hub carrier but still cant pull the driveshaft off it, I have even put the shaft back on the diff to give some extra resistance but its still not having it.
Short of trying to free it by putting some power through it has anyone got any suggestions on removing it please?
Cheers

The grease bakes hard - just needs some body English to part. A snug fitting pry bar in the upright recess levering against the drive shaft bearing should move it (sharp clout maybe) - inevitable the upright will be marked however IME
have taken the upright off the car with the shaft still stuck in place before
