I know we had a thread a while back when the film pilot was aired saying what a travesty it was, but now that the series has finished, what do people think?

I've really enjoyed it. It's been well-written, tense in places, is the only Sci-Fi film / series I've seen where star fighters object Newtonian Physics (although an honourable mention goes to Robot Jox) and is a very fresh update on the original.

But what about everyone else? What do you think?

Its fan-bloody-tastic. The best sci-fi in ages. Great acting, great storylines, good special effects, and some really nice plot twists.

Interesting as well how I haven't started fast-forwarding through the opening credits like I normally do with other programs once the novelty has worn off.

Just remember, the original series was a pretty tacky laser-blasting 70's piece of trash, and didn't really last all that long. It certainly wasn't 'a classic'.

The best sci-fi since Babylon 5. And a refreshing change from Star Trek’s stiff moral codes.

Fantastic show. Great characters, superb modernisation of the story..... overall i love the "documentary" feel of the action. The camera never seems sure of which bit of action to follow so gives a real good sence of watching war footage shot by the press (think that makes sence?)

And considering that they havent even made any decision on series 2 (only 6 more episodes have so far been scripted, but nothing filmed) its gotta be the most nerve jangling/nail biting/frustrating cliff hanger ever..... Also a superb surprise, didnt see it coming. (dont worry, no intention of giving it away).

Yep, we loved it too, a refreshing change, and clearly aimed at the adult audience, and not the kids, and all the better for it. The characterisation, story, editing and special effects are among the best I have seen in this genre, I just hope they bring out the next series soon!

Absolutely loved it - do a search on Google and check out some of the USA sites tho'.
People complaining that:
1. it's too adult for them to watch with their kids.
2. There aren't any same-sex relationships.
3. There's too much violence/sex etc.

Pur-lease!!

Noted somebody said that the Fighters obey the laws of Physics in this one. In Babylon Five the Star Furies seemed to do so as well. Why does Hollywood forget this? They are not going to "fly" like aircraft, after all they don't need the speed to stay "up".

Is there going to be another series of BG? I enjoyed it cos it was a little bit edgier than your average american offering.

Last episode I saw Adama had just been shot.

Very good series-above the average for a sci-fi and it is good to escape the sometimes suffocating political correctness of Star Trek.

It helps to fill the void left by the demise of Babylon 5.

Does anyone know when the next series is due out?

I can't see how they wouldn't do another series having ended it on a cliffhanger like that.
