Hi Peeps...Just wondering if anyone has any pictures of their Wedge with the dash removed as i would like to see the section at the front under the windscreen, The part that the dash goes over.

Hi Ziga

My entire interior is out at the moment - what areas of the bulkhead would you like particular photos of? - I can take some tomorrow.

Hi mate...Thanks...Its just the part that the dash sits on..Where the de-mister vents are...
I took this picture when the screen was being replaced but for a different reason...Ideally i would like one of inside the car and without the dash..I need to see what the part with the vents on looks like

Cheers...Ziga

Here are a couple of pics from when I had the dash out on mine. They are a bit naff, but you can see that the bit with the vents is not much more than just a piece to hold the vents. Not got any showing underneath it im afraid. Why not just take your dash out to have a look, its only 4 bolts to undo, how hard can it be! (joke, its a right pain to get out!)

Do you mean the fixings that hold the dash itself to the bulkhead?

yes indeedy.......have a look on the inside of the red dash.....you are looking for little bolts at either end

now look at the pic of the car shot and you can see there are some small cut outs in the black horizontal piece, from memory the dash slides over this and bolts up

Hi Glen...Yes i know about those two fixings...Im hoping to change the colour of that bulkhead piece as the dash will need to come out as i have a spare 350i one that I'm going to retrim and fit...Well i hope it fits...biggrin
Im trying to retrim a car while using it...Good job i have a set of Wedge seats that I'm going to be re-trimming any day now....Cheers...Ziga

Hi Ziga

These are from an early series 2 350i (1985):

This shows the lower right hand fixing:

This shows the lower left hand fixing:

There are no fixings for the central area of the dash as far as I can see - it just hangs there!

While on the subject - my car has two of the windscreen vents missing:

- does anyone have any spare?

Thanks Pete thats fantastic...How long did it take to remove the dash...Vents....Now then...I searched emphatically to find them...Every car show that i went to i looked..Nothing...Searched online...Nothing...The little 8 shaped one in the middle looked similar to that of a Datsun 1600..I recently found these that might be able to be retro fitted..Or its Douglas Valley breakers...Cheers...Ziga

It only took a couple of hours to get the dash out. It's getting to the fastening above the instruments that's trickiest.

Hi Pete

Just looking at the picture which shows the 2 vertical bolts which secure the steering column, just to the left of the bonnet release, and was wondering if you can tell me if the 2 nuts are free or if they are an integral part of the supporting bracket?

Cheers

Thanks a lot Pete, good to know, I have been struggling to tighten one of them and was afraid the thread might be stripped.
