More on Bond's Aston DB10

Well, it's more interesting than Sam Smith's theme tune

New Bond film, same old hype machine. Yes, sharing a video of behind the scenes action with the bespoke-to-007 DB10 is complicity in such dealings but it's more revealing than the last vid of the bloke doing doughnuts on a runway. And reveals something new - yes, PHTV shares a filming location with Spectre! No, we haven't got a cameo.

Anyway, click on the vid for a bit of insight into how serious Aston is about its involvement with Bond, just in case you hadn't already guessed!

Watch the video here.

F type anyone? It was always going to be impossible to beat the DB9 for looks, a stunning looking car even 10 years on!

With the villains car being a CX-75 I fear that the DB10s thunder has already been stolen. It's a good looking Aston but not a great looking Aston whereas the Jag is quite stunning...

For me Aston have lost it and deserted their roots. The original DB9 and Vantage were lovely shapes and these latest iterations are simply "odd". The F type Jag puts them to shame, and at half the prices. Aston may well be facing another crisis despite the prospect of AMG support on the engine side.

No, I'm afraid I don't rate this particular Aston, looks-wise at least. Too short and stubby with zero grace in its styling. In fact, I'd also say that is true of Daniel Craig as James Bond. That obviously is a different argument although that does imply the actor and the car are made for each other!

Overall, the shape (the car, I mean) has shades, but only in outline, of that wonderful Disco Volante by Touring, which is odd because the Disco Volante DOES have grace and elegance in its styling.

Truth be told, I'd probably prefer to see Bond in one of those for a change. I'm getting the feeling that the whole James Bond Aston Martin thing is beginning to represent a side salad overshadowing the main course more and more with each new Bond outing.

I remember thinking that the film producers had missed a great opportunity in Skyfall where Bond takes M to the "classic car lock-up" wherein lurks the admittedly-wonderful DB5. When I saw that scene I straightaway wished the producers had thought to have a white Lotus Esprit parked next to the DB - just as a nod to that other iconic Bond car. Would have earned a laugh too with a short piece of dialogue by Bond - eg "Eeny-meeny....."
