WSB France: PH2
The battle for seconds spot heats up
Race one saw, once again, the two Kawasakis leading the way with home town hero Sylvain Guintoli in third spot once Chaz Davies dropped down the order. The only thing left to be decided in WSB is who will finish second in the championship and, with champion elect Rea shadowing race leader Sykes, the main interest in the last laps was if Rea would be a 'Kawasaki man' and give his team mate the win and more points over Davies or battle for the lead.
A big lunge, a head shake from Sykes and the answer was pretty clear as Rea took the lead! What is it with Sykes and unfriendly team mates... A win for Rea, second for Sykes and Guintoli third on home turf. The Kawasaki garage must have been a frosty place, but with Davies finishing down the order in sixth, at least Sykes out scored him to close the gap to 12 points for the runner-up position. Or first loser as it is also known...
Race two and on a dry track, Davies was on much better form, running at the front with the two Kawasakis in close attendance. This time Sykes must have been pleased to see his team mate in front as Rea overtook Davies to demote the Ducati man to second spot with Sykes in third. Could Sykes get the better of Davies?
In the end it was another easy double win for Rea with Davies second and Sykes third. Davies now leads Sykes by 16 points in the battle for second.
Over in WSS, after a red flag situation, the race was restarted and shortened to just 11 laps. With PJ Jacobsen clearing off in the lead, Kenan Sofuoglu did enough in finishing second to secure his fourth WSS title.

Next year with Yamaha back in with Lowes [and possibly Melandri] they should provide some competition [going by their BSB pace]
And hopefully Ducati are fully up to speed and Aprillia also
Honda really need a new bike! Now they are winning anything in the main race series across the world –the Yam are better in MotoGP and BSB
And in WSB they are also rans
Even in road racing they aren’t winning much
Could they not enter the RCV213 v-S :-)

Bimota managed to race in WSBK and also the Petronas Foggy bike, whatever it was called and they didn’t sell too many bikes.
As I think they only sold a handful and it wasn’t until years later
They seemed to get around breaking the rules, so I’m sure Honda could
But I guess that would be defeating the purpose of WSB, they really need a new Fireblade.
But, from what I read. they aren’t going down the R1/Pinigale route of super fancy electronics, high power engine and race parts and so on [with a price tag to match] but instead make the new blade lighter, simpler and more affordable – but still sharp and modern.
It might not win WSB but it should sell well, and understandably so
