Some suppliers have fancy websites.
Some suppliers don't even take credit card bookings.
Some suppliers couldn't give a fig about retaining and nurturing their customers because they are purely a dispensable means to an end.
Some suppliers have built up their businesses upon trust and rely on that.
Some suppliers assume that if they are not selling their parts to an approved network that they can pass off out of spec parts with recourse.
Some suppliers would move the world to do what was right for their customers if they sold them parts that were out of spec.

I hope that in the future I will be dealing with solely the latter in each case.....

I've had good experiences from Powers Performance, Racetech and TVR Parts.

TVR Parts certainly offering a good service and good prices. They have now included some of the older pre Griff cars on their website. I also use Richard Thorpe racing and ML Performance who really know their stuff and provide a great service also.

Montague has had one of the helix clutches from the batch with issues... Hence this thread presumably.

What was the outcome?

hehe

None of our discs and pads are "heritage"...

Aside from this, if there were only one horse in the race, the costs would go through the roof as there would be no competition, and no need to move development on to be better than your competitor, so careful what you wish for...

The outcome is that unfortunately if you have neither placed an order for one of their new cars or are part of their 'approved network' then the new owners of TVR will treat you with contempt.
Their choice of business values that they are adopting, in the modern day, typically comes back to bite over time and I can only hope that Powers Performance manage to ride out the storm until that point in time comes. Unless TVR and TVR Parts' management approach changes that time will definitely come....
All will be fine dealing with them if they happen to perform or you happen to have a lot of patience. Wait until one of those elements does not occur and you will see what their true values are. I have and it is not great of a great brand.

Bought every single part to rebuild an engine from them, never had a problem.

You've posted some non-sensical text. You haven't answered the question with regard to the status of your clutch. There was a bad batch due to variance from a supplier.

Did you replace the clutch physically your self, if not who did it? Did you verbally speak to one of the aforementioned people or did a third party perform these communications.

The faulty clutch was fitted by my mechanic in France. It was then also removed by him as it would not disengage and my discussions direct with Helix discovered that there was a known problem. I was by no means the first person, at this stage, to experience problems with the clutch as supplied by TVR Parts yet they said nothing to me and claimed that they found out about it on the same day that I contacted Helix.
My mechanic re-fitted the old clutch (as it still had some life left in it – it was the slave that was a goner) and I needed the car running. I will of course need a new clutch fitting at some point, but will not re-buy a Helix.
I am still waiting for a refund for the faulty clutch as promised by TVR Parts. I am still waiting for the outcome of the discussion regarding the fact that under the sale of goods act of 1979 it stipulates that if someone sell goods of unsatisfactory quality then as well as refunding or replacing those goods they are liable for consequential losses caused by supplying goods of unsatisfactory quality.

hehe Am I the only one that had the phrase "Please allow 28 days for delivery" go through their heads when reading this?
