Hi everyone, Instead of being sensible and spending my money on a house I think I might try and get a 911. I was just wondering if anyone had any advice on where to source one as my budget is pretty tight and importing seems to get you the most car for your money. I was looking at sourcing one from the USA but the lower compression engines they have has kind of put me off.

I've been looking at 911s in japan and you seem to be able to pick up a 60 - 70k mile example within my budget (incl shipping etc.)

Just wondering if anyone has any other ideas where I should be looking? I've imported from USA before, a vw baywidow camper which I currently maintain, so I'm not new to the world of importing / aircooleds.

I've been looking at pre 85 cars for japan to avail of the reduced V.A.T. for a vehicle of historical significance so an early 3.2 carerra, late 3.0 sc is what I've been focusing on. In europe I'd look as far as 89.

Any advice welcome, thanks!

I've not used these people , but others I know have and were pleased with the service and the cars.

OK if you don't mind a left hooker.

yeah I have no problem driving left hookers. Thanks for the link I was using autoscout24 to check europe too. I've put a deposit down with japansesUsedCars who are big among the drifters to become a member on their site and check out the japanese autions so hopefully something turns up on that.

I found this one on craigslist too, looks nice http://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/ctd/5260120377.htm...
