Hi all, in March I hand my keys back for the M5 as my two year lease is over.

At the time I only opted for 8k miles PA and this was more than sufficient. However, a change in job saw my miles increase significantly. I'm on 13k miles with about 5 months to go.

Regarding the 16k mile service.....what are the rules? Do I have to pay for it if I exceed 16k miles? I'd hate to have to fork out for a service for a car i'm about to hand back!

Thanks

Is the I-drive showing that you will need a service at 16k, is that what you mean?

On a non-maintenance contract, you'd be expected to pay for any service requirement that arises during your time with the car, which would seem reasonable to me.

Check the details in your contract because, ultimately, that's all that matters.

I've got a feeling & don't quote me on this but whatever's due within 1000 miles or less of the handback is your responsibility (brakes & servicing), but anything over 1000 miles it's BMW's responsibility.

I've got one in 2800 miles and hand mine back on the 2 Dec. I'm going to cutting it fine for that 1k miles rule. Mines with BMW finance lease

Mine is going back next week.

Can anybody confirm if the first 1200 mile run in service is supposed to show on the drive as its not showing on mine despite it being done at around 1100 mile. The 1600 mile service is showing however. There is no space for it in the service book either.

Hi, the running service shows on mine like the normal service at 16k.

Providing it was done, the dealer will have a record I'm sure so no worries I would have thought.

Yep, it was done. I guess I'll just dig out a copy of the invoice from the dealer in readiness for collection. Odd that it doesn't show up on the idrive service record but the second service does. Probably just slack dealer and lack of detail which isn't a surprise.

Mine shows in the iDrive service record as the running in service at 1080 miles. Next service is also shown at 16k ish miles, so 2 in total displaying on my iDrive.
