Hi all, just got my Caterham back,
After a few change ie Cosworth pistons, arrow rods, and an even lighter crank, she made great power
And torque, with such a smooth delivery, max rpm 9k we took her to 8600 rpm and she has been mapped
For reliability,
Heres the last power run graph,

r

As a comparison,
This is the graph from 2 years ago.
The changes have made a big difference.

That's quite impressive! I know the Honda K20 is good, but 290 BHP from any 2L NA engine is not easy. Any chance of more info/pictures on the induction, exhaust and cams you're using?

Wow, great curve. What do you use it for? Must be fantastic.

How does weight compare to the Duratec?

The Engine has been built by Terry Bourne, Bourne Racing, he has been building Honda race engines for many years, Mainly VDV Racing cars
Aswrll as Merc F1 snd many LMP1 and LMP2 cars.
I have posted the full build on here sonewhere, couldnt find the link

That was the first build 2 years ago
Its now even better

Thanks
I use it mainly for road, but Spanish
roads as I spend alot of time there,
The roads are fantastic, along with the weather.
We done time attack two years back in Spain, and pretty much wiped the floor with everything inc GT3s RS GT3S Nissans GTR one of which runs 1000 bhp. Its very impressive but completly driveable.
Engine weight is less than Duratec
On the build post u can see them on scales side by side

We found the carbon airbox even with front air scoope was very restrictive, we found 12 hp more without it and a longer trumpet
I now have them exiting the side of front bonnet

Some pics of the engine with the longer trumpets fixed.
Pistons, cams and crank
As its built to next years euro spec race engines, im told i cant mention some changes. Seems its a very secret buisness.

Just about finished putting a TVS supercharger on mine now running and will book in for mapping end of Jan

Ours only lost 5hp with the set up below, made 313hp on the engine dyno and 308 in the car on the rolling road with the airbox, Steve mapped ours as well,
Your quite a way down on torque but is proberly due to us having an extra 400cc,
