Hello all,

I picked up my '06 Midnight Blue Vantage on Friday. Absolutely over the moon with it. The noise is phenomenal, even more so after pulling fuse 22.

Now I do have a few questions which I hope can be answered:

My car does not have the Bluetooth kit. On the rare occasion I decide I want to listen to something other than the engine, I would like to be able to stream Spotify to the car. What are the options, costs and installation methods to do so? Ultimately I'd like to get the Official AM upgrade however I can't justify spending £2k on such a novel thing on a car so early into ownership.

Also the drivers door has some quite significant bubbling/corrosion in multiple areas, see pics (also includes pics of the car). Do I have any chance of getting these under the 10 year corrosion warranty? There is damage to the paintwork on one of them so i presume not. If I get this done myself who is the preferred bodyshop? I presume this should cost around £350-400?

All help is much appreciated.

It doesn't unfortunately. Is there any aux ports hidden anywhere that I may have missed?

Congratulations on your purchase, I love the colour, if I was buying one from new thats what I'd go for.

Did you buy it from a dealer or private?

OP has a 2006, there isn't even an armrest, just 'cup holders'.

No simple, cheap way as the car doesn't have bluetooth. James @trackerphone is probably the best bet as he's upgraded several cars.

I do not know whether this will work, but if it does, then it must be the cheapest solution of all.

I recently discovered that any old HiFi receiver or amplifier, can now be made to receive Bluetooth wireless signals.

The gadget that I purchased is a Logitech Bluetooth Audio Adapter. Cost about £20. If the Aston Martin Audio has either a jack plug or two phono plug inputs, then the gadget can be connected. For household use there is a mains plug, but it has one of the recent type of combined plug and transformer. Therefore you would need to see what the transformer output voltage is, to match in the car.

It is certainly very easy to use at home, and the sound quality seems the same as a connection using wires.

Over now to more knowledgeable people, for comments about whether this might work in a car.

Grange in Brentwood sorted my midnight blue DB9 2007 paint blisters around the door handle, same as yours. They got a contribution from AM. These blisters round the door handles (not sure about the bottom of the door) are not corrosion, they're paint defects, so probably don't qualify under the 10 year warranty.

Thanks everyone for the replies! The car was a private purchase, it's going to HR Owen in Pangbourne on Wednesday for it's 140 point inspection and then hopefully a years warranty. I will enquire about the paintwork, however I've decided it needs sorted regardless of whether they will fund some or all. Any recommendations of bodyshops? I'm based in Newbury but anywhere on the route of Newbury to Cumbria would be suitable.

Just spoke with James from trackaphone, seems like he has a number of solutions with regard to the bluetooth. Now I just need to gather some funds!

I am also a recent new owner of a V8 Vantage (2007) and had a similar desire. Have recently had a Parrot system installed which is amazing (Parrot MKi 9200). Seamless install and entirely out of sight. Provides fully integrated Bluetooth phone, streaming, and storage.
