Can A Ferrari GT Be Used Everyday?
Discussion
Hi Folks,
I have a F430 that is great when you just take it for an A to A drive but, is horrible sitting in traffic or on the motorway. I tend to always be very busy with work so, don't always get a chance to take it out just for a drive and find it too uncomfortable to use as a daily driver. My current daily driver is a E92 M3 DCT, which is perfect for a commute when I put the suspension in comfort mode and use it in automatic but, that M button is always there for when the drive allows it.
So my long winded question is, could I genuinely use a 599 or even maybe a F12 as a replacement for the M3 or will they always be too compromised?
Thanks in advance.

I've just changed my Audi RS6 for a McLaren 12C as my DD.
Its early days but i'm more than happy so far.
Reviews rave about its suspension being the most comfortable of any supercar and with choice of normal/sport/track for both suspension and power train + either auto or manual gear change you can chose the set-up for the mood you're in.
If you haven't considered one have a read of the McLaren section and have a try of one, it may well be the answer to what you're looking for, plus 'everyone' seems to be getting one - you almost 'have' to buy one to be a fully paid up member of PH!

I run both a 599 and an F12.
The 599 is a great car, but like your F430 its no fun in slow moving stop start traffic. In my opinion none of the mechanised clutch solutions really work well under those conditions.
The F12 is however a different machine altogether and would be great as a daily driver. You might also consider an FF, as a DD that would be my choice.

Totally depends what your daily drive consists of. If you are just going on decent roads to an office in a place you know, amd where you are happy to leave it, then it's fine. If you're often going to places you don't know well, through loads of traffic. or want to be incognito at times, then it's not.
I find that after a while with DD like that, no matter the car, you just want something you can jump into without it being 'an event' that needs thinking about, and for which it's not the best option anyway,

I used a 355 as daily in London for 2.5 years and now use an FF (although not commuting in London any longer) - imo both perfectly fine (would have thought same applies to a 430, although never driven one).
FF is very comfortable - I think it is the Ferrari daily, for people who do not want a BMW, Merc, Maserati etc. crappy turbo engine autobox car and it should be used accordingly - not really an "event" car as such, more a daily driver with a very good engine

Missed that first time round - I am impressed
Thanks, the last time I drove it I went out for lunch on a clear winters days. Went for lunch and came out a few hours later and it had snowed heavily, so had to drive home on old tech tyres and awful wipers! Gassing Station | Supercar General | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
