Interesting driving roads

[simply red]

I am planning a trip to France in June and looking at roads in my french road atlas.
It is in two sections with over night stop.
Has anyone any thoughts on interesting roads for the following:

Section 1
Cherbourg to Salges

Section 2
Salges to Sarlat (Dordogne)

I can take routes from the atlas but if anyone out there has any experience of these two routes comments would be appreciated.
