Bugatti Chiron: Pic Of The Week

Away from the show lights and at speed in the wild here's a Chiron for your desktop!

You've got to pity anyone trying to launch a 'normal' car at a show like Geneva. Because when there's an all-new Bugatti how exactly are you supposed to compete for column inches or clicks?

Our Pic of The Week does not, of course, focus on Toyota's C-segment crossover concept, the Megane Sport Tourer or the Audi Q2 that also made their debuts in Switzerland. Nope. It had to be the Chiron, 1,500hp's worth of shameless excess. Impressive as it was stationary on the show stand we've gone for a picture of it doing what it was built for - going very fast. By Bugatti standards this black and chrome one is quite reserved looking too and the cooler for it.

Back in the day you'd have something like this Blu-Tacked to your bedroom wall. Now you can download it and have it in pride of place on the electronic device of your choosing! Enjoy...

Traditional (4:3)
Computer widescreen (16:10)
TV widescreen (16:9)
Portrait (smartphone etc)

No thank you. Not for me nor my bedroom wall.
I appreciate the quality of build and the level of craftsmanship, however the looks simply don't cut for me.
And don't get me started on the rear end...Awful

I thought Pic of the week would be reserved for things that were 'cool' or beautiful.
Not crass stuff like this.
Stats and hidden engineering aside...it's boring...hardly a desirable poster car.

Did you not see the Konigsegg or Apollo?

That seems like quite a lot of anger towards something really so trivial. If you want a pic of the other cars I'm sure google images will help you out.

This sort of thing usually does nout for me. The Veyron again, did nothing. This actually looks very striking, There's something about it just looks 'right' to me.

I really like the styling. It's far better looking than any of the various other "hyper-cars" on the market by my eyes.

In before all the hipster car enthusiasts state how they don't like the Chiron (and Veyron before that). Oh wait, too late.

Think I prefer the 918 styling to be honest..... And the P1. P1 is not a pretty car, but it just looks so futuristic.

I guess it's all in the eye of the beholder. I rather like the styling of the 918 - it's a nice, clean, simple design which would work wonderfully as a new Boxster but it's a bit... uninspiring for a supercar; the P1 seems to vary between over-detailed and rather derivative depending on colour combination. The less said about the LaFerrari's styling the better.

The specs and whole design ethos of the Chiron don't really appeal to me, but in terms of pure looks I think it best manages to combine a relatively smooth, simple overall shape with a few bold design elements but relatively few tacky details. The front would look better with the lights fared in, though.

I'd say that in a dark single tone colour this looks ok.

Front and back look quite good to my eyes but that side profile is a complete mess- if a i8 is trying to sh*t out a 911 the Chiron appears to have severe constipation. ..

I think it's a good looking car and improves on the Veyron considerably in that regard.
