does anyone know the ls3 engine car for sale on here , thinking of having a look but its been for sale for ages , karl
Nope, but I wouldn't get too hung up on the time it has up for sale, these aren't exactly mainstream cars and therefore a much smaller crowd being pitched to.The only way to make a balanced decision on wether its a good car or not is to go and see it and take someone with you who has had Ultima experience. You need to check the quality of the build. As its 11 years old its probably had the LS3 retrofitted which is a good thing as the modern fuel injected engines are great to live with. Looks like it has a 6 speed transmission, it would be great if its a Turbo, GT3 or GT2 box. The Stack dash is an upgrade but not to everyones taste. The other thing to do is post on here and the Ultima Owners page on Facebook as not all cars for sale go on the Pistonheads classifieds. Hope that helps a bit.
I agree with Roj, You will be disappointed if you just pick the first car you see without doing your research. I researched it for over 5 years, visited the Factory a few times and the open days plus went to see a variety of cars for sale privately and by dealers before choosing. I have seen this car, it was some time ago now so I can not provide any specific details, but if you like, PM me via this forum and I may be able to advise based on my thoughts of this car and other cars I have viewed. Hi everyone I'm new here and viewing this car tomorrow . It all seems really good and the owner speaks very highly of it. I'm going along hoping to buy it. But now slightly worried after reading this post. Is all not as it seems with this car?! Any help and info gratefully recieved . Thanks and I look forward to speaking to you all on here in the future
Going to the kitcar show is sensible. There will be owners and also folk from the factory there who can give you tons of advice and there will be cars to look at which will help you get an idea of what you like in the various cars. I enquired about the black car when I was looking to buy about 18 months ago but didn't get much response from the seller at the time, although I am sure he was working abroad and perhaps it was just a bad time.
The green car you mention is owned by Roj on here. I made enquiries about that car as well... but obviously Roj snapped it up. If I was looking to buy now, and that car was in my budget then it would be in my garage.
As it happens, I did everything you are not supposed to do and bought the first car I physically looked at (infact, I paid for it before I saw it) and the first time I had ever sat in the drivers seat of any Ultima was driving mine 450 miles home. Be brave

Wow that's a lot of money to hand over without seeing it first, but fair play to you. This car does look exactly what I'm after, the only thing that puts me off is its stretching my budget a little further than i really wanted too. But this always happens to me lol. Love the last comment , be brave, just about sums it all up really. Thanks for all the comments The green car you mention is owned by Roj on here. No. The nice man selling the car was on PH and couldn't have been anymore helpful and 3 previous owners were all on PH and said it was a good one. I would prefer to buy from an owner and enthusiast than a dealer, given a choice, so everything just lined up well. No regrets.Andy
