Lamborghini Huracan Superleggera spied

Missed a 458 Speciale or 675LT? Time to start pestering your Lamborghini dealer

Will it be rear-wheel drive? That has to be the question asked having seen the first images of what is most probably a faster Lamborghini Huracan. With the LP580-2 having been received so well, and with clear potential in the car, it's only natural to think of a stripped-out, two-wheel drive Lamborghini.

More V10 noise? Yes please!

There's very little we can tell from these early shots, aside from the new exhaust arrangement at the rear. Hopefully this points towards a Speciale-style twin-exhaust set up, just the right height for small children to learn what is so good about V10s. Expect this Huracan, four-wheel drive or not, to feature even more noise than standard.

Interestingly there's a Huracan Spyder seen in these pictures too, pointing towards a successor for the previous Gallardo Performante. Could they arrive at the same time? Certainly there seems to be an appetite for hardcore convertibles; see how quickly the McLaren 675LT Spider sold out, and how much Speciale Apertas are now being offered at.

Given there's not a lot to tell for now, let's begin the speculation on just what a Huracan Superleggera could or should be. Typically these models don't have a great deal more power, so it seems unlikely it will match the 675hp McLaren. Remember also that the Super Trofeo car has 620hp, which would provide a nice link back to the road car. The Gallardo Superleggera reduced weight by 70kg against the standard LP560-4, so consider that a target for the Huracan successor. Using the LP610-4 as the base figure, removing 70kg would take the weight to 1,352kg. Perhaps Dynamic Steering will be standard too...

Lamborghini has been introducing new Huracans at fair rate recently, with the Spyder following the LP580 quite quickly. Place your bets on a reveal date now!

Been anxiously waiting to see any real info on this car although been told it will be closer to the end of the year. Granted the last Superleggera only had an extra 10bhp over the 560 but with Ferraris new 488 having 660 bhp i feel that the Huracan will have to be a good 20-30bhp more than that and with a significant loss in weight. Otherwise whats the point. Of course it will have too look mad too!!!

Just hope it sounds better: watched about 100 cars go through a Targa stage here in Tassie and it sounded utterly pish weak. I'd be seriously disappointed if I'd dropped that sort of money and even GTR's sounded harder.

And just to add. I can't see any different exhaust configuration, only a halfords style rear grill. It won't be 2 wheel drive and unlike the 458 Speciale and 675LT, This will not be a limited production run car.

Ah I as looking forward to hearing it at the weekend. Sounds like Quinn is having a hard time with it also. The TC won't let him drive the car.

Small point but the 458 special wasn't a limited run car, it was available in whatever numbers for the time it was in production.

So essentialy the Superleggera is the same, the 458 S Aperta was limited production.

I'm unsure of why however this seems less pretentious than both the 458 Speciale and 675LT.

Cool car.
