Selling Ferraris pays off!
John Collins worth £100m according to the Sunday Times Rich List.
Hadn't realised how he got started:
"John then borrowed cash from friends and placed 10 per cent deposits on £3m worth of rare classic cars, saying he’d settle the outstanding balance in six months time when an inheritance came through.
But he immediately advertised the cars for sale - making £500,000 profit in the six months before he had to pay them off."

Build a good business with strong foundations, stick to what you know and be niche.....with hard work anything is possible. Don't follow innovate and Talacrest have been at the top of what they do for ages with a huge client list and many repeat customers.
+1 they've been around for ages and are very good and professional. no jealousy here!

he used to be a war photographer I think ?? wonder how he came into the business and built up such a knowledge seeing as it wasn't his first career.
IIRC correctly he had a Ferrari & sold it to a dealer, who basically took the keys off him & immediately stuck it in the showroom window with a huge markup. This gave him an idea...I also recall reading that when the slump in prices started, he was very quick to jettison his stock - when many held on and took a bath.

Hi for the record chris evans has never backed Talacrest financially. John Collins has been in ferrari world since 1976 and has not needed anyone's help.ndont know where you got that info from but totally misguided. Sorry to disappoint the detractors.
We didn't even bother to dignify the comment with a response. Really no need for you to state the obvious, John (well, obvious to nearly all of us) Frrair said:
