my details to pay me for my car?

Colour V5 with your name and address

· Card part of driving licence confirming your name and current home address

· Proof of bank details showing your full name, account number and sort code (void cheque/paying in slip or bank statement)

· MOT certificate

· A photo of the car with you in the photo, this is just so we can confirm you are the owner of the car.

is it dodgy? theyre a big company so it seems legit.

Im actually pretty curious about it since the OP mentions it. I genuinely have no idea what the intricies of selling & buying a private sale car via finance. Seems like an awful idea though.

There is a new breed of finance companies who will provide finance to private buyers buying from individuals. One such company is Zuto. They seem to be legit and are growing fast.

Given that they are providing finance for a car sold by a private individual and not a dealership who they already have a relationship with, they will of course carry out more checks than normal to ensure that the bUYER isn't ripping them off by buying a phantom car and disappearing with the readies.

Do a google search of the company name and see if they are indeed legitimate.

this - most companies will happily verify what they need. Also ensure the number you are dialing is a number listed on the web site.

I have bought recently using ZUTO but was via a dealer, very legitimate and if you speak to them they'll answer any questions you may have. They will be clear about not arranging release of the vehicle till funds have cleared and it does happen quickly!

Perfectly legit company and one of the owners is a massive petrolhead iirc.

I wouldn't worry about it and if it sells your car get it done.
