Dodge Ram 1500 Stinger Yellow... Sport

Ram made just a little more obvious with a bright yellow special edition

Big but not especially clever, American pick-ups are a bit of a guilty pleasure on PH. Why? Hard to pin down exactly, but there's something about a fitness for purpose that appeals. In the same way you would pick a Caterham for track driving, if you're in the States and need to move stuff, you get a pick-up. It's more interesting than an MPV, right?

Here's the latest from America, the Dodge Ram Stinger Yellow 1500 Sport. It follows the Ram 1500 Yellow Rose of Texas introduced in March. And yes, they are both real names.

The Stinger is, unsurprisingly, only offered in yellow with additional yellow highlights inside. Engine is V8 and V8 only (truck yeah!), the 395hp Hemi mated to an eight-speed automatic. Buyers can choose from Crew Cab 4x2 or 4x4 variants, the former with 22-inch wheels and the latter with 20s. In case the paint hadn't made it blindingly obvious, the Stinger also receives a chrome tipped exhaust and a 'vented sport hood'.

Dodge will make just 2,250 Stinger Yellow Sports. They are arriving at Ram dealers this month, with prices from $44,340. Or £30,700. Catch 'em while you can!

For a car you can't buy in the UK? confused

For the record, no. We just thought it was cool.

Cheers,

Probably any sport you care to think of - I reckon you'd get a push bike / quad bike / Moto X / Canoe and some fishing rods in the back with room to spare for a tent - weekend sorted!

I think it's cool too, and a lot more fun than most of the cars you read about today. Such a shame so many PH'ers would rather read about a silver Golf.

P.S. Trust 300 Messages/Per/Week to chime in ... Such monstrosities are about as desirable over here in the U.K. as Donald Trump ....

Why would you want it as a dually? confused

1500's have never been duallys anyhow. It's a big like saying a shame the MX-5 hasn't got an estate boot and tailgate.

This.

Guys who buy this truck are into quads, dirt bikes, jet skis, boating, fishing, off-shore fishing, hunting, sport shooting, etc.

The buyer is younger. Many probably know a thing or two about the skilled trades like carpentry (even if that's not their employment).

On weekends, you won't find this guy in the pub.

Doesn't matter, it's big offensive and in fk you yellow ... Who wouldn't want to add 2 extra wheels to the rear along with massive oversized arches etc... just make the Eco warriors even more angry!

Plus everyone knows 6 wheels are better than 4 haha
