Exige jacking question

I'm in the process of doing an overwinter refresh of my Exige. (I know it's nearly June.... Time has gotten away from me).

The front is up on axel stands and currently has no wheels or suspension components on. I'm wanting to make a start on the back and so I'm asking for advice on safely getting the back on stands. Initially I was going to use the rear Jack points and do one side at a time but I'm not sure how stable the car will be with no wheels, no suspension and no clam on the front. Am I better to be patient and get the front finished? Or can a get the back on stands and take the rear clam off with causing thousands of £ worth of damage?

Also how easy is it to get the rear clam off without removing the wheels?

I've done it...as it is, it is with no engine or transmission...

You have to take the rear undertray / diffuser off and the. Use the rear most jacking points

If you use the normal rear jacking point you risk the car falling off as it is the balance point

It's ok if you have no engine though!

Thanks for the replies. That looks like a useful set up on the wheeled trestles. How stable is it? I guess with no engine it's pretty close to 50:50 weight distribution.

I had good look at it and chickened out of putting it on 4 axel stands. Hopefully this week I can get all the front suspension back on get it back on its wheels and jack the rear up on axel stands.

It hasn't been as hard to work on as I thought it would be. I've taken plenty of pictures so I might put together a thread describing what I've been doing.

The above is safe with no engine or box but I'd definitely put something under the rear if they are in!

Left my car for a week on my sloped drive. Wood under the front and axle stands at the rear points.

As others have alluded to, the jacking point just in front of the rear wheels are NOT rear jacking points; they're side jacking points. They're almost exactly on the centre of gravity on a complete car; it's is absolutely no safe to use both at once unless you've got the engine out or significant ballast in the foot wells.

Take off the engine under-tray (it can be done with the car on the ground) and use one of the back two sets of support points.
