My Griff has been off the road for a few years and I want to get it sorted.
Needs a thorough service, new fuel lines (as they seem to have turned into crumbly cheese), and I have a set of silicone cooling hoses to have fitted.

Any recommendations for someone near Salisbury? I bought from Pimperne (15yrs ago!) and used to use Raceing Green, but want somewhere closer.

Thanks for any advice.

Guess it depends what you are after here. But TVR's, especially things like a Griff are pretty simple vehicles. This means:

a) It's easy to do lots of things yourself at home if you want
b) Any competent local mechanic can fit fuel lines, water hoses and perform a service

Obviously TVR specialists should know more specifics about these cars, but as all the components are from other car makers, I sometimes think this is over played.

I'm certainly not against using specialists, just bear in mind that you might pay 2-4 times more per hour labour and parts that are generally easily available will likely be marked up much higher.

Good point, well made.
I am not necessarily looking for a TVR specialist, just a recommendation for a competent garage that is used to dealing with relatively high performance, but relatively simple cars.

Hi
I have used Frenchmoor Racing for quite a few years and found them very good.
They have good RV8 knowledge and solved a few issues with my V8S.

But would you trust a local mechanic with your pride and joy or use a recommended specialist who knows the respect these cars deserve even though in most cases the jobs on our cars are easily done. The one big advantage with using a garage which works on TVR's day in day out they will spot the maintenance jobs far easier than a non familiar Tvr mechanic and could with preventative maintenance save you an annoying break down !! It all depends on your finances of course and justifying spending alot more on labour charges?

There perfect, a specialist that knows all the quirks of a TVR and doesnt cost the earth, and if you don't want him to supply replacement parts as him whether he will fit the parts you supply, if yours are of superior quality of course.
