.....will apparently be doing the Canadian podium interviews!!!!! WTF! Guess Hamilton is trying to be best mates with him to help his music chances in the US.

Really hope Kimi wins.....that would make for a fun interview.

Bieber is German for beaver.

Just in beaver?

Somebody needs to tread on him. Heavily.

why don't they get Rod Hull and Emu to do the interviews? Oh that's right, he's dead, but still better than Beiber hehe

His tweet on the matter has apparently been deleted...so we shall see.

Seriously though, what the hell is this sport coming to when it allows itself to be used as a tool for self promotion by one of the most self-entitled and irritating douchebags on the planet. F1, have some self-respect.

This may be F1's attempt at getting down with da kidz...but I'm willing to bet the crossover between Justin Bieber fans and F1 fans can be counted on one hand.

He was meant to do them in Monaco, but turned up in unsuitable attire, Brundle was informed he'd be doing them mid race.

Hamilton has no aspirations to do anything with music, he has said its just a hobby and when questioned about the album he is supposedly doing with "drake" (whoever the hell he is) he said that there is no album.

Basically he just likes messing about in the studio at his house.

And as far as I am aware he's not "best mates" with Bieber.

It's publicity, which all top line sports want / need. That's it, it's not difficult,

Who selects the person to do the post race interviews? Seems like a non-story from someone who dislike Hamilton.

so they went surfing together ? does that mean they are joined at the hip.
Must admit I had no idea, but then I don't follow drivers on social media as I couldn't give a crap what they do out of the cockpit..

Well, quite. Maybe someone googled "famous Canadians" and he was the top result ?

As far as I'm aware FOM instigated the podium interviews and invite the interviewer. I agree with the Hamilton hate thing.

While painters, philosophers and scientists top many lists, Avril Lavigne, Jim Carrey, Justin Bieber, Celine Dion and Pamela Anderson make up the top five famous Canadians in Pantheon rankings.
Could have been worse! hehe

Much as don't particularly like him - Why not Jaques Villeneuve, surely far more relevant to the location

Taylor Swift for the US GP....when we all know Jay Leno or Mario Andretti would do a great job. Dario Franchitti should do the whole thing globally.

Going to stick my neck out here, but..

This is what F1 needs. Maybe not exactly this, but it needs to do something different to attract a new audience and if this is the first small step then so be it. The podium interviews are throwaway anyway unless Brundle is doing them, so there is no great loss here. There is plenty of time for proper analysis and interviews for the 'old timers'.

I'm looking forward to Bieber shooting a short video in the paddock and then FOM forcing him to remove it from his 100M+ followers.

Maybe F1 will one day get a clue, have a coherent social media policy and actually do something positive to promote the sport. Lewis has probably done more himself than however number of people FOM/FIA have in their marketing teams, yet he gets shot down for it at every opportunity. Like it or loathe it he is the only voice for a massive potential audience and he's doing all the right things (hanging out with Neymar/Bieber etc is far more relevant than drinking/smoking and whatever the F1 playboys of old used to do).
